Violin starts from four years old. Cello starts from six, because the instrument needs a little more reach. Theory is covered inside the lesson, and piano accompaniment for the lower grades is included. Registration fee (S$20) and deposit (S$100) waived for a limited time.
Adult group classes
Small groups of two to four adults, for violin and cello beginners. Run in packages rather than weekly commitments, with a complimentary booklet at the start. No instrument needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there really no registration fee?
None. We are waiving the registration fee for a limited time period. The session price is the price.
Do I need to buy an instrument first?
No. Borrow one of ours during lessons for as long as you need. When you are ready to buy, we point you at something appropriate and arrange a student discount.
Are exam fees included?
ABRSM registration fees are paid to the exam board and are separate from lesson fees, which is standard everywhere. However, we help students with the exam registration.
Are trial lessons available?
Yes. Trial lessons are available for new violin and cello students, payable as a single lesson with no ongoing commitment. Meet your teacher, experience our teaching approach and discuss a suitable learning pathway before enrolling. An instrument can be provided during the trial if needed.
How long does it take to prepare for a first ABRSM graded examination?
As a general guide, a complete beginner may take around nine months to two years to prepare for ABRSM Grade 1, depending on age, learning pace and consistency of practice. Your teacher will discuss a suitable grade and timeframe, prioritising strong foundations and musical understanding so each student approaches their first examination with confidence.
